Fantasy football managers, it's that time again! You're staring at your lineup, scratching your head, wondering who to trust under center. Fear not, we're here to navigate the murky waters of Week 7 quarterback decisions. Start 'Em:
Maye's Moment: I'm not usually one for victory laps, but I can't resist this one. I've been touting Maye's potential all offseason, and he's delivering! Four out of his last five games have seen him score 19+ fantasy points, and he's leading the league in deep ball passer rating. Facing the Titans, who struggle to generate pressure, Maye is poised for another big week. He's not just a starter, he's an MVP contender in the making.
Goff's Bounce Back? Goff might not be the fantasy stud of last season, but he's shown glimpses of his old self lately. Returning home to Detroit against the Bucs, who are surprisingly generous to quarterbacks (top 10 in passing yards, TDs, and fantasy PPG allowed), Goff has a chance to shine. The Bucs' offense is clicking, potentially leading to a high-scoring affair, and Detroit's defense is banged up. This could be Goff's time to rebound.
Fields' Boom-or-Bust: Justin Fields is a rollercoaster ride. Two games under five fantasy points, three over 25 - he's as unpredictable as they come. But this week, facing the Panthers, who barely register a pass rush and have allowed three TDs to quarterbacks in their last three games, Fields' rushing ability could be the difference maker. He's a risky play, but with high upside.
Nix's Upside: Nix hasn't been consistent, but his potential is undeniable. He's got the legs to contribute on the ground, and this week he faces the Giants, who rank 26th against the pass and struggle to generate pressure. New York is vulnerable to big plays, and Nix has the arm to exploit that. He's worth a gamble this week.
Love's Ceiling: Love is a reliable option most weeks, but against the Cardinals, he could explode. Arizona allows the fifth-most passing yards and struggles to pressure quarterbacks. Love thrives in a clean pocket, and with his recent increase in rushing yards, he's a strong start with serious upside.
Williams' Consistency: Williams has been a model of consistency, topping 19 fantasy points in three of five games. The Saints aren't an easy matchup, but their below-average pressure generation plays into Williams' strengths. He's a safe bet to deliver solid points.
Sit 'Em:
Dart's Tough Test: I was wrong to doubt Dart last week, but this week's matchup against the Broncos is a different beast. Denver's defense is relentless, leading the league in sacks and pressure. They've stifled quarterbacks all season, allowing the second-fewest fantasy PPG. This is a brutal test for a young quarterback in just his fourth start.
Murray's Struggles: Murray's injury concerns are a red flag, but even if he plays, the Packers present a tough challenge. Green Bay allows the sixth-fewest passing yards and has shut down quarterbacks on the ground. Murray's ceiling is limited, and this matchup doesn't offer much hope for a breakout.
Stroud's Pressure Problem: Stroud has shown flashes, but he struggles against teams that can generate pressure. The Seahawks, outside of their game against Mayfield, have been stingy against quarterbacks, holding them under 20 fantasy points. Seattle's pass rush is a concern, and Stroud's recent success came against weaker defenses.
Tua's Inconsistency: Off-field drama aside, Tua hasn't been a reliable fantasy option. Only two games over 18 points, and turnovers are a concern. The Browns, allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards, won't make things easier.
Minnesota's QB Quandary: Regardless of who starts for the Vikings, it's a risky proposition. Both McCarthy and Wentz have averaged just 15.3 fantasy points, and the Eagles' defense is no pushover. They've limited passing yards and touchdowns, making this a matchup to avoid.
Food for Thought: Fantasy football is all about calculated risks. While some of these 'Sit 'Em' recommendations might surprise you, remember, matchups matter. Do you agree with these calls? Who are you starting or benching this week? Let's hear your thoughts in the comments!
